This project is a truly visionary endeavor that shows the way to regenerating our nation's most chronically blighted inner city neighborhoods. The project's vision transforms the region's most distressed inner city area into a showpiece for new concepts in green infrastructure, integrated mobility and network connectivity -- infrastructure of the future for jobs of the future. The project will essentially create 65,000 jobs and build $1.4 billion in sustainable infrastructure and community facilities. It will fund economic stimulus for our poorest communities, achieve urban projects of scale and sustainability, direct investment toward the best and most effective opportunities, and fund projects that reverse the trend of investing in infrastructure that supports suburban sprawl.
